Bigger Budget Shortfall

Legislative leaders say falling oil prices which have led to layoffs in the energy industry, along with lower prices for natural gas, are pushing Oklahoma’s budget shortfall higher. Projections now put the budget hole at nearly 600 million dollars, and House Speaker Jeff Hickman says budget cuts at state agencies are likely. The state Equalization Board will certify the official revenue estimate
