A national report shows Oklahoma lagging behind other states in children’s well-being.

A recently-released national report shows Oklahoma lagging behind other states in addressing the well-being of children. The 2014 Kids Count report ranks Oklahoma 39th, down from 36th in 2013. The ranking raises concerns that many of the children coming into contact with the state’s child welfare agency will eventually be placed in Oklahoma’s juvenile justice system.
