Reduced State-Mandated Tests for Students
Clip: Season 4 Episode 435 | 1m 35s
An Oklahoma House panel approves legislation to reduce state-mandated tests. Senate bill 708 would eliminate tests for 5th and 8th grade social studies and seventh grade geography. House author Dennis Casey said the measure would free up some of the time schools devote to testing, while Rep. Jason Nelson voiced concerns that eliminating the tests would de-emphasize instruction in those areas.
