Lawmakers approve a measure to reduce the state's role in marriage.

The Oklahoma House approves a measure to reduce the state’s role in marriage, following a federal court ruling overturning Oklahoma’s ban on same sex marriage. Both chambers also approved resolutions to petition Congress for a constitutional convention to reduce federal spending, even as some lawmakers expressed concerns that such a convention could have unintended consequences.
