Tens of thousands of people called New Jersey's new COVID-19 hotline which went live Monday. But its 250 agents got so overwhelmed that many callers ended up with voicemail referrals to websites. High demand also swamped a Union County website that offered 1,200 appointments Sunday; they disappeared in a flash.
